  • Going to and writing about events
  • Articles have local action part, what Melbourne consumers can do

Outline of sections Discussion/questions/comments on each one

  • profiles
  • up coming dates for rallies, screenings, festivals, etc
  • environmental issues
  • ethical food/accounting for what we eat (can be transitional from meat to veg)
  • trade justice (including clothing)
  • current events
  • spotlight on each continent or international issues
    • Rae: one page with information from each continent
  • new policies
  • animal liberation
  • indigenous issues
  • local politics
  • marginalised people – eg refugees, homeless
  • recipes and ingredient substitutes
  • letters to/from the editors

May be too many sections? Can we get stuff for each section? Different bean logo for each section Prioritise the sections/content? We will aim for these sections, may not actually get them all Better to have more general headings Broad headings

  • Permaculture – different diagrams of how it all works and stuff
  • Permaculture in your garden
  • Growing complimentary plants, how to use plants to shield from wind, soil nutrition etc

Karina

  • Homelessness – how do you start a residential facility for homeless people
  • What needs to be done, etc
  • Fits in “marginalized people” category
  • Almost finished a book on homeless people, wants to talk to a guy from AngliCare about issue

Peero

  • Beanies cartoon strip
  • Beany character can be involved in article from last issue
  • Can’t draw but wants to write for it, needs someone who can draw for it
  • Aaron knows some cartoonists, may potentially be able to do it

Sam

  • Keen to do Bean logo for each section
  • That would be so cute – Juliet

Rae

  • A couple of really short box articles
  • In any empty sort of sections
  • Rather do lots of little things rather then a big in-depth
  • Eg. Quick summary of FT cafes in area

Juliet

  • Energy Use and Climate Change or
  • Deforestation in Borneo and what consumers can do
  • Depends on what is filled, do whichever one fits
  • Can do other one next issue
  • Would like to work on upcoming events section

Brodie

  • Seasonal recipes based on what Brodie is making at organic café she works for
  • Take photos of food make sure they are good
  • Emma does photography

  • Dummy’s Guide to Veganism: ethical, spiritual, environmental

  • Launch party on Dec 8th
  • First Issue released Dec 11th
